Playing With Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls

Pillsbury products were on sale at a grocery store that I shop in so I decided to try a couple of their items. For $2 why not? But as you may have noticed from my other posts, I am not good at baking without playing around with the recipe. So in this case I made my own version of cinnamon rolls by adding candied walnuts. What you do is heat up a pan,  place the walnuts in the pan (no oil necessary), cook them until they become a golden color (a couple of minutes), then add sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved and you have candied walnuts. I reckon you can try any type of nut for this recipe.

** Cook the buns first and once you pull them out of the oven sprinkle the walnuts on top and then pour the icing on them. You may have to use a spoon or fork to spread the icing evenly.

All in all the cost for 8 cinnamon rolls with candied walnuts came to under $5 (one packet of walnuts cost me $1.99).

  1. Wow! Nice price tag you’ve got there! The gooeyness is irresitable and the amount of walnuts you’ve got there makes those on sale miserable. I’m licking my screen :p

I would love to hear from you!
