I have been coming to Spirits Bar & Grill for several years now, mainly because it is near my apartment; the prices are decent and the food tasted okay. However, over the past 6 months they have impressed me with their food! Maybe they got a new chef? Not only has their food become delicious, they also have a kick-ass happy hour (they call it The Escape Plan)! Between 4pm-6pm their starters are half off (excludes nachos), and their drinks are also on special. True, 6pm does not give one a lot of time to make it to the restaurant (I sometimes have to work late and sprint over), but when I can make it, I make my friends meet me there.

Honestly, you gotta check them out. I have brought huge parties here over the last 6 months, and none of my guests have been disappointed with the food or service.

ADDENDUM! Just learned that they have Happy Hour on weekends too! I am ridiculously excited about this! I asked them on Twitter and this is what they said about their weekend specials: Escape plan 4-6, $9 mini pitchers & $4 Jameson all day, $4 Caesars until 4.

ADDENDUM 2! This afternoon at 5pm (happy hours are between 4-6pm) I went to Spirits and decided to get appetizers to go. I normally eat in, but I had a lot of work to do so I needed to rush home, plus I figured that getting it to go would be the same thing–price-wise. Wrong! I was charged regular price for the appetizers, and I was completely thrown off! Apparently the happy hour prices only apply to dining in. Maybe that should be obvious for the general public, but it was not to me. I always read menus and rules carefully, and nowhere did it say that the discounted prices were dine-in only. And the whole way it went down—like I should have known…. yes, I still like the food, but this experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. So as much as I love the happy hour DINE-IN ONLY deal, I am in no rush to return anytime soon. AND to top off the shitty experience, when I opened my to-go container that held my calamari, it was swimming with green onions! Argh I HATE onions! I have been getting their calamari for over 4 yrs and it NEVER came with onions. WTF?!

Such a sad day.
